EPW - Freres Bordier a Geneve, fusee quarter-hour repeater with jacquemart automaton, 54mm, 18K gold OF original case, repeat function activated by depressing pendant with slide on case band at 11 to prevent repeat activation, spring-loaded signed gilt cuvette, white enamel dial chapter surrounded by multicolor gold automated jacquemarts at left and right striking bells in sequence with repeat strike, automated child jacquemart at bottom swinging a hammer in sequence with repeat strike, KWKS, not disassembled to inspect for escapement type, gilt mvt with pierced and foliate scrolled two-footed balance bridge, s#2792 within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 73.5 dwt (114.3 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, currently exhibiting good repeat function through both hour and quarter strikes but first several trials of repeat function returned only hour strikes and it required several engagements and some light coaxing before quarter strikes consistently returned as well suggesting at least some gumminess to strike mechanism, occasional good repeat tone and occasional repeat tone that is somewhat muted and with some rattle, overhaul recommended, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, some scratches, fine scratches and haze to gilt surface, some soldered repair evident to visible portion of hour wheel; nearly flawless dial chapter with few small edge nicks; fine hands, minute with virtually full finish loss; case shows little wear, dents to band at 4:30 and 11:30, some dings or shallow mild dents elsewhere to band, few dings to perimeter of rear; bow pivots freely; good domed glass bull's-eye crystal.
